Uri Dadush, Senior Fellow at the OCP Policy Center, presented “The End of Growth?”, an event covering the Global Economic Outlook, organized by the OCP Policy Center and the Moroccan Enterprise Confederation (CGEM). This event took place on October 24, 2016 at the Headquarters of the CGEM
The End of Growth
The economic outlook continues to pose major challenges for private operators as well as the public sector. World trade shows very little progress. The MENA region is the most affected by political instability, and therefore remains among the worst performers. Brexit was an historic blow to the European Union. Despite all this, Europe—crucial market for Morocco—is still holding up. What to expect in 2017? Will oil prices remain at low? Have we entered an era of permanent stagnation? Or are the problems—as was so often the case in the past—mostly caused by cyclical and temporary phenomena? To what extend will this development affect Morocco?
